Mad Exclusion: The Social and Political Exclusion of Persons with Mental Disabilities in the United States from 1945 to 1975
This essay was originally written while a doctoral student at the UW–Madison. A revised and expanded version is currently in preparation for conference presentation. A brief essay on the exclusion of persons with disabilities by Hippies during the height of the Counterculture movement in the United States, arguing that systemic exclusionary behaviors exist among populations which have historically been identified as progressive.
